Tarot Readings!

I am now offering to do Tarot Readings for querents online. This is something I’ve been thinking, praying and divining about for a while now and I just had the final push to take a deep breath and do it.
I will be offering readings with a variety of decks in a variety of spreads including:

Thoth Tarot Deck by Aleister Crowley
The Jane Austen Tarot Deck
The Witch’s Tarot
Herbal Tarot (Coming soon)

The spreads include:

1 card question reading
3 card Past Present Future reading
3 card Body Mind and Spirit reading
6 card Relationship reading
9 card Wheel of the Year reading
10 card Celtic Cross spread

Prices for readings range from $3 to $20 and can be bought on Etsy or paid for by donation here on the blog. For the reading, all I need is your first and last name and e-mail address, which can be sent to my e-mail address hedgewife (at) yahoo (dot) com.

I need your name in order to focus on you as I am doing the reading. Since the readings are entirely online and I do not have the connection I would normally have if I was sitting with you in person or hearing your voice over the phone. Having your name helps me to hone in on your energy. I promise will not use your name for any other purpose than this reading.
I need your e-mail address to send your reading to you. Your reading will include the cards drawn, the reading of each card, overall reading and a picture of the spread for you to review yourself.

While I have full belief in the cards and in my ability to read them, I must add this disclaimer:

I'm so sorry I did not participate in the Halloween Carnival. Having some issues on this side of the interwebs lately which are slowly sorting themselves out...and should be clearing up soon according to the Faeries' Oracle reading I did last night (here's hopin').

Alaska and the Ren Faire

So I’m in Alaska!
Actually, I’ve been in a Alaska for about 4 weeks now, sorry for not blogging but I don’t have internet at the campground we’re currently staying at >.<

Spring has sprung here in AK. All around Anchorage dandelions, lupine, forget-me-nots and a little white flower I’ve yet to identify are in bloom. Sadly my camera is broken and I’ve yet to get another one so I can’t show you the beauty all around me…yet!

I’ve done a lot since we’ve been here though. I’ve learned to crochet, got a job as a Front Desk receptionist at a local hotel, been out harvesting wild edibles, had close encounters with moose and black bear (and lived), and I’ve been to the Anchorage Renaissance Fair!

I know, it’s a lot for 3…4 weeks, right?

There’s so much to talk about but for now I just want to tell you about the Anchorage Renaissance Festival.

The Three Barons Renaissance Fair is not as big as some of the other fairs I’ve been to but it was very well laid out and each area seems to be designated to the 3 barons – 1 from Italy, 1 from England, and 1 Moorish Baron. There was plenty of entertainment from the Circus of the Damned to the Alchemist’s Magic Show and tons of vendors from blacksmiths (one was a cutie in a kilt) to the local wenches guild to food galore.

I was very impressed.

One of my first stops was at a vendor booth called Hedgewitchery (surprised?). The owner, Brend M. Beck, was a welcoming lady who was dressed as a peasant herbwife and going about her business making tinctures and liniments in the shop window. She was surrounded by dried herbs and her wares – soaps, liniments, salves and teas.

She welcomed us to the fair and to Alaska and we talked about local herbs in the area and how it compared to Tennessee. She then invited me to a class she’s teaching next month on local plants and herbs – I’ll post the information when she gives it to me ^_^

Another vendor I stopped at was The Renaissance Raven (www.renraven.com). Darlene Cullor is a jewelry artist who specializes in creating “Torch & Kiln Fired Enamels, Repousse, and all times of metals: sterling, copper, Brass.” She had so many beautiful pieces, I was depressed at not having much cash on me to buy a leather rose for a hair piece or any of the other jewelry there.

The vendor that I had the most fun with is definitely the International Wenches Guild – Alaska Local chapter. These bawdy and friendly ladies were offering a variety of items from hand-made masks to moss covered fairy houses to beaded jewelry. While I browsed I heard one of the ladies call out to a scalawag passing by teasingly then turn to another wench and state that she had received a hug from him earlier and he was by far one of the cutest young men here at the fair.

I got a card from them and want to share its statement:

I did as the card bid, thinking I might be a wench too, and learned that the guild is actually quite large. To become a member there is a $43 fee for lifetime membership plus $4.30 shipping for the items they send you – a pin with their motto, a booklet, a certificate to verify you are a certifiable wench to be framed, and cards that offer 1 free kiss to be given to skalawags and other kissable men. I think this is very cute and plan to become a wench as soon as I get the funds together.

In all the fair was wonderful and I look forward to next year when, hopefully, I’ll have more time and money to spend. I did notice a lack of gypsy fortune tellers…maybe I’ll have to correct this ^_~

At the Beach

I'm on vacation at the beach in Jacksonville, NC!
We're going to be here 3 weeks before we move to Alaska and I'm sooooooo excited about the break. This should help relieve all the stress we've been suffering from this past 3-5 months.

During this time, in between walking along to sand, picking up shells and sharks teeth and sea glass, I'll be working on 2 e-books that I hope to have available on here and my Fairy blog. Its going to be a slow process though since both books require some research - not to mention that my capacity for working during vacation is low ^_^

In the mean time I'll be posting pictures and of course keeping up with Pagan Blog Project and Pagan Blog Prompts (though the recent one about spring cleanign doesn't pertain to me right now as we have no house to spring clean anymore lol).

Normally in bathrooms the graffiti is lewd rude and crude but this one at the book store had messages of inspiration!

Bubble Bubble Boil and...

This witch is cooking up some trouble...in the bathroom?

I'm getting ready for th ebig move from TN to Alaska next week (Tuesday to be precise) and today I'm making all the organic hygeine products I will need for 1-2 months.

 My shampoo. I'm actually making it in a plastic container, this pic is from the last batch I made and I'm using it because the bottle is prettier, lol.
My shampoo consists of 1/2 castille soap and 1/2 other liquid ingredients that consist of freshly brewed herbal tisane (usually a blend of chamomile, lavender and other calming scents as I love a good calming cleansing bath or shower), a few drops of tea tree essential oil, 1 capsule of Vitamin E oil and maybe a few drops of lavender eo...if I can find where I put it.
I'm making enough for me and some extra for Lady and a friend of mine...so sad to be leaving them for such a long times :(

This is my witch hazel and tea tree oil blend that I use for everything from bug bites to acne to piercings to...everything skin related excepting sun burns or burns (for that I use aloe and lavender eo).

I also prepared some unrefined organic coconut oil that I use instead of lotion form its HUGE gallon tub to a smaller container (and gave the rest to Lady as I can't take it over the boarder as it is a food product).
I will also be making a couple of bars of soap - I'm actually almost completely out of my organic soap base so...I'll prolly have to give it up for a lil while and use something like Dove - ew I know but cheaper than my base and something my mom-in-law is willing to buy for me without a fit about my 'hippy ways'. LOL

-takes a deeep breath-
So I'm packing like mad and having to step back now and then to relax and remind myself that this is an adventure. no one is making me do this. i am happy.
I've also been burning up as we keep hitting record highs right now and I've yet to prepare summer clothes to wear. So...I found a great way to relax and refresh
Spearmint tisane!

My husband's grandmother planted spearmint in her garden 4-5 years ago and every year it comes back with a vengeance to take over her flower beds (she didn't know that it did this when she bought it) so she says come and get it or I'm just gonna mow it down.
I of course grabbed a handful yesterday and thanked the Goddess for her bounty in my time of need ^_^

Still getting ready for the big move in April.

Here is our large trunk in which we've packed the majority of our metaphysical items and quite a few of our books. We'll have a hell of a time getting across the board of Canada if the troops search this and think we're a bunch of crazy devil worshipers. Oh well, maybe the spirits of travel will be with us.

Happy Valentines day

I did a Valentine's Tarot reading regarding love and life and received a very in depth reading about upcoming romance.

It seems fate has decided to tie up some loose strings regarding my love life. I've had 2 ex boyfriends try and contact me in the last month - not cool. And I recently had a tryst with a girl I've had a crush on for 4years now (before some of you get confused, Damon and I are polyamourous and both of us slept with her so no one cheated on anyone else). We had hoped that something more would come of this but it doesn't look like it will. So we will stay good friends and move on.

My tarot reading tonight did say that nothing would happen with her but that we will have someone coming into our love life come Beltane (We will already be in Alaska by then so I'm really curious how this will come about).
Some of you may wonder how I get these time frames in my reading. I read intuitively and go by strong emotions and one of them popped into my head hard that it would come on Beltane, to be ready by then.

I also got some news about my career. Recently I've been looking at 2 options I have as far as my career goes. I could go one path which will lead to more schooling and maybe a more stable position. The other will allow me more artistic freedom but some financial instability.
The reading told me that there will be a 3rd option coming along. It didn't say which of the three I will choose, just that I don't only have 2 paths.

My current ally is The Devil and my current enemy is the King of Pentacles/Coins; both were inverted. This is something that is sticking with me strongly from this reading.

All things make sense in time...

So my lack of employment has worked out.

We've decided to auction off a lot of our personal property before moving in the spring. Who would have thought we had so many antiques!

Between the backing, the date-finding, the price comparison, and of course the cleaning and repacking I have been a busy bee.

My schedule is crazy and keeps changing. Just learned this morning we will be doing an antiques auction this friday as well as next friday (Black Friday) then we will do a much larger auction of all of our other stuff the beginning of next month.

On top of that we have the real estate agent coming in and out, doing measurements and paperwork, selling the house. We have a feeling it will go quickly as our agent is AWESOMES!
We've also done a little magic as well. We buried out little St. Joseph statue near the real estate sign. My mom-in-law swears by it as 2 weeks after burying she's sold her last 2 houses, her daughter's house and her daughter's boyfriends house. Huzzah for Santeria.

So...that being said, I'm so sorry I've been MIA lately. I miss blogging but barely have the time. I hope once the house is sold and we're settled at a friend's house before moving in April that I will be able to get more writing in.

Tarot Readings Becoming More Accurate

So I have found, since coming back from my hiatus from reading, that my readings are not only becoming more accurate but that I'm starting to get time frames of when things are going to happen.

My last reading about my job was if I was going to take the leap of faith and get a new job I would have to do it immediately. I didn't and literally days later the new job was no longer available to me.
In a reading before that, I was focusing on whether or not to buy a new house and the cards told me that in a month's time the decision was going to be made for me. I forgot about this as the house we were looking at turned out to have black mold in the foundation. Today, I learned that we will be moving before the new year to a new state...more on that soon.
These are only a few examples...more are happening only they are with the readings I have done for friends and more personal and not appropriate for blogging...

Has anyone else felt a surge of accuracy or timeliness in their readings?
I wonder if its just me or the coming of 2012.
I am doing another reading regarding a very personal matter tonight that I may put up here after some further verification on Tuesday...that will make more sense when I'm able to explain, promise.

I am still technically on hiatus from blogging but I think I will be done with that on Wednesday. -crosses fingers-

Blogging Schedule Change

Hello all,

I'm just posting a brief apology and notice that I'm going through some schedule changes at work and until things are worked out there (if they ever are), I'm going to be a little absent from the blog or my posts are going to be very short and to the point.

For those of you who are wondering what is going on:
I went into work yesterday and was deviated for breaking my scheduled time. When I looked at my schedule (which is normally 9-6 m-f) I found it had been changed over the long weekend to 11-8 without warning. My boss and the woman who makes the schedules informed me the only way to get my schedule changed back is to trade with someone else (the only people requesting trades that I've found work 1-10). The same woman who makes the schedules knew about the change Wednesday of last week...but I got deviated with several others for not knowing about it and coming in at the wrong time.
To top it all off, the woman who makes the schedules knows very well that my husband and I share a car and need to work the same schedule as we live an hour away from town and there's no logical way for him to drive to work and then back to get me.
At this point, I can either go in at 9 and get my full hours and be deviated until they fire me or not go in to work at all because I have no way of getting there...I'm not sure how its going to work out.

Saying a little prayer to the calendar and work gods and hoping that my applications at the hospital and at a few bars for bartending will be accepted and I'll be able to make the choice to leave my current position.

Thanks for listening to my little rant and again, sorry if I'm a lil MIA here in the next week or so. I promise to catch up on my 31 days of Samhain and on the other magickal craziness going on this month.

Happy October!

Its 52 degrees outside, fall leaves are whirling on the autumnal breeze, there's news of snow upon the mountains surrounding our little 'holler' of a neighborhood - we have a fire on the hearth crackling away and filling the house with the sedative aroma of wood smoke.

I spent the day canning a fall harvest of spiced pears and just tasted the literal fruit of my labors - delicious.

My astrology reading for the month says that I shall reach a spiritual awakening in the coming days and I look forward to it. Turns out I am not the only one...

Last night, Damon and I hooked up with some friends of ours (also a married couple, which is rare in our circle) and went to Perkins (a restaurant and bakery that is open 24 hours) where we had a waitress who shared similar faith paths (we recognized each other by kind and jewelry). It was a moon-blessed meeting as I learned that she also has her own business - we exchanged business networking and I obtained her personal contact information.

After dinner (the only downfall of which was that they did not have the Pumpkin muffins I was looking forward to), we went back to our friends' home where I processed to give them a tarot reading - as I am a little rusty on giving them to friends and family (which I find harder as I have to separate myself form them and any biases I may have).

In the reading of the husband, I learned that he too is on the brink of a spiritual awakening and growth - how blessed!

October is such an amazing month and I look forward to it all year for the harvest of the years many blessings (both physical and spiritual).

Update

I know, I'm lame. Sorry for the month + of no blog or word from me. There's no excuse for it, I know, dear reader.

In order to play catch up and make ammends...I'm going to let you in on a little secret!

I am looking into starting my own business! Now, its not going to be terribly huge and I'm not quitting my day job, but, it should be fun, yes?

What am I doing?
Selling small spell kits and zodiac kits online. I haven't decided whether I'm going to use Ebay, Etsy, Poppyswap or WitchMarket yet, I'm still comparing notes. If you have any suggestions, please feel free to comment them ^_^
I'm also starting to push my card readings more and offering them for Halloween parties and the like.

So not the cats out of the bag. I'll let you know when the shop goes live and where...for now, back to blogging.

Altar

My altar is set up, finally!
When we were living at the apartment, I have a 3 tiered altar in the eastern part of the main room. Now that we're with my in-laws, I have a smaller altar in our bedroom, trying to face as eastward as possible.

The base of the altar is a little besdide table my grandmother gave me. Its abotu a foot square around and 2 feet tall. There's a flat surface on tope, an open shelf beneath that and then a cupboard. Perfect.

On the table I have Ganesh, who I need now that we're starting new journeys and I need help with my business and finances. With him I have a few homemade supplies I sell for my business (including 1 votive beeswax candle, 1 4oz bottle of homemade shampoo, 1 bar of soap, 1 tin of lip balm), a quartz crystal, and an offering of yerba mate tea.

The shelf holds my almanacs and a deck of faery oracle cards by Froud.

The cupboard has incense, my witchy kit (a chesk of salt, oils, bell, chalace, and everything else I feel I need on hand), and a stone incense burner.

I feel so much more at home with the altar set up.

Moved!

WOW! What a month I've had. Between family drama (I think Pluto is in retrograde?) and cleaning up and job junk, my partner and I have moved AGAIN!
We're back in East TN, from 8 months in Kentucky.

I have so much going on!

As we prepare for a few weeks with my in-laws and are looking for new jobs and a new home, I'll post a few basic witchy things about our move such as travel protection, a small altar for our room, and some other things going on magically.

I do want to post the books that I grabbed to have on hand as the rest of mine are packed up and stored.
They are: Llewellyn's Magical Almanac and Spell-a-Day almanac for 2011. I read daily forcast as it were for inspiration for my day. Sometimes they inspire me to do a spell, write a journal entry and maybe even a blog post! Totally recommend them.
I also grabbed my Prakriti (Ayurveda) book to keep my healthy lifestyle inspired and I plan to dig out my Cunninghams herbal encyclopedia in the next week as I'm doign quite a bit of herbal work right now.

Other things I have ready:
My altar in a box - 1 deck of basic tarot cards (small), 1 large quartz crystal, 1 mini chalice, 1 bottle of sea salt (try salt packets as well), 1 small bottle of olive oil, 2 small white candles (also try tea lights), 1 small altar cloth decorated with pentacle, 1 lighter, and a couple sticks or cones of incense.
I also have readily available a fairy statue/candle holder, my teeny medicine Buddha and my Ganesh statue. I recommend having whatever available that makes you feel connected to patron deities or the divine no matter how small.

We've only been back in TN for...about a week now. I still plan to check in at Dillys in Kingsport, Three of Cups, Atlantis and Caravan Mystique in Johnson City. There's also a few places I havent been yet that I want to check out (specifically a small local in Greeneville, TN). Just wanted to give my fav witchy spots a shout out!

P.S. Apparently I moved just in time for the End of the World on May 21 ^_^

Update

Greetings and apologies my readers. I know I don't keep up on this blog nearly often enough.
That being said I hope to write a bit more frequently now as I'll have much more to write about. My partner, friend and myself are shaking the dust off our wands and brooms so to speak. We're honing in our abilities and love of the craft and taking our city by storm in search of like minds, shops to buy necessary tools, and so on.
Sounds a little gung-ho, I know but that's just how excited I am about this new decision and revelation the 3 of us have had.

Spring is also on the way and the best part of spring, for me, is spring cleaning. Out with the old and the clutter, shine up the neglected. I'll be doing a few projects for spring cleaning outside the mundane and plan to share them with you along with how to mix some magick in with my normal cleaning.

So if you can find it in your heart to forgive a neglectful witch, please continue reading and maybe add some of your own ideas into the mix. I love comments ^_^
